The Foundation for Civic AI (FCAI) is a philanthropic initiative that operates like a grant-making foundation, providing in‑kind access to safe, secure GPU and cloud computing for social-good organizations. 

It supports nonprofits and government entities that want to use AI to deliver public benefit, asking applicants to outline their mission, team, technical requirements, projected impact, and any ethical or privacy considerations. 

Selected grantees receive infrastructure support to train and run AI models, with priority given to organizations that can demonstrably and responsibly drive impact in their communities. In its initial phase, FCAI focuses on “shovel‑ready” projects that are prepared to deploy AI tools quickly for real-world outcomes.
